Branded Photo Booth for the Ladbrokes World Darts Championships

We spent a lot of time at Alexandra Palace this Christmas and New Year, supplying a branded photo booth for four days of the World Darts Championship. And what a great venue Ally Pally is! It was our first time there and we’d be happy to go back anytime!

The event was run by the Professional Darts Corporation (originally formed as the World Darts Council in January 1992), who are the leading professional body for the sport. The WDC was formed by 16 of the top professional darts players and three of the top managers as a breakaway organisation from the British Darts Organisation. The aim of the new body was all about taking the sport to a new level, and with increased television coverage and growing attendances at large events, it’s been a runaway success! Ladbrokes are the main event sponsors.

This event was all about the fun, but keeping it on brand. The aim was to increase customer engagement, push brand awareness and encourage social interaction. After all, darts has got to be one of the most sociable sports around (well, what else can you expect from a game that often takes place in our great British pubs) and its fans some of the most friendly we’ve had the privilege to meet.

We designed and provided a full booth wrap for the branded photo booth and a great vinyl backdrop in the booth itself. The backdrop gave every photo a little something extra – in this case the images of Phil Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen. As luck would have it, these turned out to be the two finalists, with Phil Taylor eventually clinching the title. The backdrop meant that guests went away with a photo that looked as though they were actually in the booth with Phil and Michael! The photo print outs were also fully branded.

We provided two dreambooth hosts to man the booth, welcome guests and upload photos to Facebook and Twitter, as well as a promotional staff member to walk around the event and get the word out about the branded photo booth.

We were lucky enough to have a few competitors come and have their photos taken – both Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen came (and of course had their photos taken with their own backdrop) as well as fan favourite Eric Bristow.

400 photos were taken over the four days, there were huge amounts of laughter (and a drink or three) and guests loved having their pictures taken with their sporting legends.
